Mini-Birthday!

Since we will be in Disney World
on Taylor's 5th Birthday
We decided to have cake and ice-cream
with the family last Saturday! Taylor was also able to celebrate her birthday
in Sabbath School!
What a neat hat, huh?!?!
We enjoyed the time with our family
as we celebrating our daughter's special day.
Javen even got in on the fun!
We can't believe our little girl is 5 years old
and will be going to Kindergarten next year!

She is growing up so fast!
Mommy made the birthday cake again.
It was chocolate!
(requested by Taylor
not by Mommy!)
* The blog will be updated on our trip...
so keep checking back for updates! *

Christmas is in the Air!

This week has been very exciting!
Not only did we get to participate in our
church's program of a Walk in Bethleham
but we also got our first snow of the winter season!
Taylor was really excited for the snow
and even built a snowman!
In celebration of the much
anticipated Christmas season
we went to visit Santa!
The kids kept staring at Santa's workshop
and waited for him to come out!
They were so cute waiting and asking questions.
Taylor: "Those are fake elves on the roof.
Santa has real ones, right?"

The kids with Santa!
He asked Taylor what she wanted
and she said "Surprise Me" (so Taylor)
He told her that he had girl gifts just for her!
So, she was happy!
He asked her what Javen wanted and she told
him to "just bring him cars, boys like cars!"

Javen was funny, he didn't look comfortable at all while
taking the picture but right after he smiled so big
at Santa...oh, well!

Our Week of Thanks

This past week of Thanksgiving
we tried to fill our days with lots of fun activities.
We had all grandparents available since most were off
of work!
So... first we made lots and lots of cookies!
We made sugar cookies, chocolate-chocolate chip,
toffee chip, and molasses cookies! We shared all of our cookies with everyone
who came for Thanksgiving.
(ps. I didn't have my camera on the HUGE Thanksgiving
cookie bake. So, I used an archive pic!)
We also participated in Sligo Church's Festival of Praise.
Every year our church asks that we help those
in need by bringing non-perishable goods
to church.
It's really fun to watch the kids participating
and taking their food to the front of the church.

We also had a wonderful Thanksgiving meal and fellowship
with our family.
We had Aunt Brenda come from Texas and
Aunt Krista and Uncle George
came from Virginia.
Family from upper Maryland also stopped by to visit too!
Pocahontas even stopped by!
(I quickly made this outfit for Taylor because
she wanted to be a Thanksgiving Princess!)
We even got a much anticipated visit from
Uncle Rod!!!
The kids loved for him to read them stories!
Throughout the course of the week we also went Black Friday Shopping,
(Thanks Krista for waiting in all the long lines with me!)
We went to the Frederick Christmas Craft Show,
and played lots of games!
(I think we played Settler's of Catan like 3 times!)
We hope each of you had a wonderful
Thanksgiving!
May God Bless you all!

Javen At 18 Months!

We can't believe that Javen is 18 mths old!
His doctor's appointment went well.
He was on average for all of his milestones.
He knew his 10 words:
ball, turtle, fish, nana, papa, duck, stuck, star, amen, juice
He knew his 3 body parts by pointing to them:
Nose, belly button, head
The one thing he was above average was his height!
He's 33 inches tall!

Javen Telling Knock Knock Jokes!

It's so funny to hear Javen tell his knock knock jokes! It gets real funny when he laughs at the end! Enjoy!

Lego Mania!

Ever since Chris can remember he's loved Legos!

All types and kinds of Legos. So, needless to say when we finally had kids he couldn't wait to introduce them to Legos. And then, wouldn't you now it, last week Arundel Mills opened a Lego Store!

Chris was so excited that he made a point to take all of us to the mall for the grand opening!

We all took part in helping the master Lego builder build the gigantic Christmas tree that is located down from Children's Place in the mall.

We all had a great time participating in this holiday event.

Later we went to the new store and the kids had a blast building and knocking over the big duplo Legos!

I have a feeling that we will be frequenting this store a lot more in the future! (We went twice this past weekend!)

This is part of the giant Santa Claus that was built for the Grand Opening. You got to guess the amount of Legos used! Taylor said 519 (said five one nine!), Chris then added a 22 in front for our guess!

A Seussical Halloween...

This Halloween the kids and Daddy dressed
like Characters from their favorite Bed Time Story:
The Cat in the Hat! Taylor was 'Thing 1', Javen was 'Thing 2'
and Daddy was 'The Cat in the Hat'.
Taylor and Javen had the most fun getting
their hair dyed blue (& it came out rather quickly too!).
Mommy's part was to make Daddy's hat!
(I couldn't think of a costume to match them -
so I did something on my own)
We went to a Fall party at our friends, Sheri and David's.
It must be said that David had the scariest but funniest
costume ever!
(Take a closer look at the picture!! hehe)

Here is our fam...
I went as Lucy from "I love Lucy"
(I wish you could see the shoes,
they were the high, white patent leather 50's
looking peeptoe pumps!)
